This weekend we went to Yellowstone with our neighbors, Heidi and Stephen. It was a lot of fun. We went Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning. I have to admit camping with an 11 month old isn't as easy as you'd think. I think the only hard part was the fact that she couldn't crawl around anywhere. That really frustrated her, other than that she was pretty good.

Here's our campsite.

Isabel finally had a chance to crawl around, so she decided to help me blow up the air mattress.

Helping Mom. Here's a video of her helping me. She was so excited not to be confined anymore.

One the way to see Old Faithful we saw a lot of bison.

Me with the bison.

I was really nervous about getting too close to the bison, since there were signs everywhere saying that they would charge if you got to close. Supposedly they can sprint up to 30 MPH! Ouch, that would hurt.

It goes off every 42 minutes (give or take 10 minutes).

1 mile down 7 more to go...
The Smith Family at the suspension bridge.

I tried my best not to look down while crossing this bridge.

Enjoying the wildlife along the hike. We think these were some type of beaver or groundhog. We also saw a lot of bison along the way. On our way back the bison were on our trail, so we were walking right towards them. All the bison we had seen had there heads down and were eating and just ignoring us, but when we were walking towards these two bison they were staring at us wondering why we were headed right for them. So we had to go around them and than get back on the trail. I would have taken a picture, but I was really really scared.

Deja Vou...Hey Dad, does this picture look familiar?

The last mile of the hike.

On the drive home from the hike we passed some more waterfalls. There was a hike to go down and get closer but we were exhausted.

Beautiful.

We had to slow down because there were bison on the road. It finally moved to the side of the road.

We were really close.

We also stopped to see the painted pots. Isabel was so happy.

Sunday morning. It was so cold we all slept with beanies on our heads. Here's Isabel wearing Daddy's hat.
